Asian Festival of Speed 2009 - Saturday

Through a fellow photographer friend, I managed to obtain a media pass to cover the AFOS which was held from 29th ~ 30th May 2009 at the Sepang International Circuit. I have been to Sepang numerous time, but always as a normal spectator. But this time, I had the chance to experienced what the pros go through during a race event.




















It was hot, it was tiring but it was fun..............



There were 3 main race event. First up is the Formula BMW..






First race on Saturday was not without incident. This happened at Turn 1.


Surprisingly, the car survived the impact and managed to finish Race 1 looking like this.


This guy here was not so lucky. After tangling with another car, he went home for an early shower. (He later went on to win Race 3 on Sunday, talk about a great comeback)




The next race was the GT3 class. The usual suspects includes.....
